Invitation to Submit Proposals for Special Issues

The Journal of Advances in Computer and Communication Technology (JACCT) invites proposals from experienced researchers and prospective guest editors with established expertise in computer science, communication systems, networking, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies. Special issues are intended to bring together high-quality research on focused, timely subjects and to encourage scholarly dialogue, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the exchange of innovative research outcomes.

Proposed themes must be aligned with the journal’s Aims and Scope and its scholarly standards. The journal welcomes collections that explore recent technological breakthroughs, innovative solutions, emerging research trends, and significant theoretical or practical developments in computer and communication technology.

1. Scope and Focus

A proposed special issue should address a clearly defined and timely topic within JACCT’s research areas. Topics may concern artificial intelligence, machine learning, communication systems, computer networks, wireless and optical communication, cybersecurity, the Internet of Things, cloud and edge computing, and other emerging technologies relevant to computer science and communications.

The proposal should demonstrate the significance of the topic, its relevance to current research, and the contribution the collection could make to the academic and professional community.

2. Guest Editor Responsibilities

Guest Editors are expected to identify qualified researchers who may contribute scholarly manuscripts; support a rigorous, impartial review process for all submitted papers; oversee the academic coherence, quality, and relevance of the collection; and promote the special issue appropriately to improve its visibility and scholarly reach.

Guest Editors must observe JACCT’s double-blind peer-review process and publication ethics requirements. Editorial oversight and final acceptance decisions remain subject to the journal’s established procedures; invited papers and special-issue submissions do not receive exemption from independent peer review.

3. Content of a Special Issue Proposal

Each proposal should provide the following information:

• Title of the Special Issue: A concise and informative title reflecting the topic and scope.
• Rationale and Objectives: The importance, timeliness, research context, and intended contribution of the topic.
• Themes and Topics: Principal subthemes, questions, or research areas that the collection will explore.
• Potential Authors: An outline of likely contributors and their expertise, where applicable.
• Guest Editors: Names and short professional biographies of the proposed Guest Editor or editorial team.
• Expected Timeline: Proposed dates for manuscript submission, peer review, revision, and publication.
• Target Audience: The researchers, practitioners, and other stakeholders expected to benefit from the collection.

4. Submission and Evaluation of Proposals

Special issue proposals should be sent to editor@crijournals.org. According to JACCT’s published special-issue guidelines, proposals are assessed by the editorial board, and a decision is communicated within 10 days. This timeframe refers to proposal evaluation, not acceptance or peer review of individual manuscripts.

5. Publication Timeline

After a proposal is accepted, the journal and Guest Editors will establish an appropriate schedule for manuscript submission, independent peer review, revisions, editorial decisions, and publication. The publication timeline is determined according to the scope of the collection and the editorial requirements of the manuscripts received.

6. Peer Review and Publication Ethics

All special-issue manuscripts are subject to the journal’s double-blind peer-review process and its publication ethics policy. JACCT uses double-blind peer review, with independent external assessment for manuscripts selected for review. The same standards of originality, research integrity, confidentiality, conflicts-of-interest management, and editorial independence apply to regular issues and special collections.

JACCT’s approach reflects good-practice principles promoted by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
